Oh my, this is one 0f the best family days ever! I attended a family reunion to day for my father's step-dad's side of the family. There was a huge turnout, more than 60. The exciting part was that 5 of my six sisters were there, including my sister Patty (see April 4, 2007 entry) and she nevers shows for much of anything. As a widower, she has to work a lot and she gets worn down. With me, that meant 6 of the 7 of us were there, and I cannot recall the last time that many of us arrived at the same place at the same time. I know now that without a doubt that a good chunk of behavior is hereditary. My sister Sally and my daughter Marlena look similar and have many of the same mannerisms , gestures, and they even sound a a bit alike. It was really strange seeing that, and even though I knew my daughter was hundreds of miles away, it was like she was there, in her Aunt Sally. I had them both that day in a way, and that made it an even better day. My rock, my sister Linda was there. She is the foundation of whats left of the family now, and I thank God for her. She makes sure that I am doing okay and is always there for me when I am down. ALWAYS. Oldest Sister Karen was there. She is spunky and tough but a loving caring sister. She is one of the shortest of the bunch but she is 10 feet tall to me. I think I could ask for about anything and she would do her best for me. # 5 was there. I call Mary #5, but she started it when I was way down. She would text me scriptures and motivational messages thru the day and sign them #5. With two little letters, she started a tradition in our family that will live till the last one of us pass away. That is a legacy, even though it seems small to some. Hey! Its just two days and a wake up now till I hit the airport and go to visit my new love in North Carolina. I am so excited. It's looking real good right now, and if I can get a job, we are set, or all systems are good for that anyway. One of the best days for a while, just getting laundry done and I can finish packing up except for just a few little items Have a great day!
