Today was a happy and painful day. My wife finally got the okay to go back to work. She so loves nursing and the week she missed because of her gall bladder surgery really bothered her. She is one of those few individuals that gains happiness and strength from her job. Its a perfect fit for her, working with her "old folks"

Anyway, my oldest daughter, my STBX and myself all went to Applebees. It was just like the good days, laughing and talking, it was almost like this nightmare was not happening. Before we went out, we even had some very frank disussion about future partners, her birth control method (I had a vasectomy in 80 so she has not needed any). It was like we were friends again. But it is just an illusion. Her resolve has not wavered one inch. And although the end is but a few months away, it felt like old times and it felt good
