I came home tonight and checked my email.  My friend gave birth to a healthy boy this morning 8lb 13oz.  The email announced his birth and included pictures.  I do think the birth of a baby is a miracle and I am truly happy for her.  But I feel like crap..... my baby should be here too. My baby was to arrive in October.  I feel like the wind has been knocked out of me, utterly defeated and dejected.  It has certainly changed my mood this evening.  I'm a crying mess.  I know this is just my emotions on this news and I will have my game face on tomorrow morning.  But tonight it really sucks.

sometimes i write them back to congratulate, but more often i quietly send a present for the child. that way i\'ve acknowledged the arrival of their precious gift, but haven\'t had to say too much. you will feel better tomorrow, especially if a good night\'s rest is involved.

Longing, I identify with you. Over the sumer my SIL gave birth to a healthy baby no problems. These births hurt so much, when we desparately want a baby of our own. Honor your sadness. Take great self care. We\'re here for you!
