My doctor's office called on Monday and offered me an earlier appointment for yesterday .... my appointment wasn't until October 4.  This was my "follow up" to my surgery from August 2nd.   My larporscopy was normal.  I have no endometriosis and my pelvic area is normal.  Inside my uterus she said I had something like a scab on the top which she scraped off.  Apparently this was the remainder of my lost pregnancy from April.  It was apparently sent to pathology and it was "pregnancy altered" tissue but not fetal tissue.  So I am supposing this means a piece of placenta or the spot of implantation. And that was it.  She asked me what I wanted to do now.  I guess my chances of successfully maintaining a pregnancy are now 40%.  I'm not at 50/50 anymore.  She also said maybe we should consider other options like a donor eqq, a gestational carrier or adoption. She then ruled out the gestational carrier saying my eggs are just too old.   It makes me full of regret for not starting my family sooner.    My husband doesn't like the options.  He says it is our child, part me, part him or nothing.   Her bottom line is we can try again but I have a 60 % chance of miscarrying again.  We don't do anything different except maybe start the progesterone sooner, right after ovulation.  So I'm feeling a little down.  I don't know what I was hoping for.... some fluke like oh we forgot to test for that.  Take this and you won't miscarry.  Just wishful dreams.   I do have a referral to another doctor but I'm sort of feeling what's the point.  I guess I'm feeling extra blue because I just heard about a woman (who went all through school with brother) who has had her fourth child at 44... a healthy baby boy.  A baby after 40 is possible but not for me.....I had three miscarriages before 40.  It sucks.I'm not totally gloomy DS friends.  I've canned like 36 jars of tomatoes and just made up a whack of stuffed peppers for the freezer.  I have a 25 anniversary party to attend this weekend for a local theatre group I joined 15 years ago.  You are supposed to dress up as a character.  Any suggestions ????

ha, i like it dc4.
you didn\'t ask for advice. but if you were my sister i\'d push you to go and see the other doc. i have read odds that were higher for your situation. maybe even if the other doc can\'t give you the Answer, then at least they can be supportive of you guys in whatever decision you make. YOU HAVE CARRIED A CHILD TO TERM. i\'m not an obg or an re, but i know that this is important and it DOES affect the odds of success. i would be really surprised if another dr. gave you the identical approach as this one. as a dr. i do not trust another dr. who resents a patient getting a second opinion on their condition. i am eager for my patients to get a second opinion since two brains are smarter than one and my patient\'s condition is my topmost concern.
remember, i was in your shoes once. i came home from my dr. appt saying \"is that all there is?\" and \"is this how it is supposed to be?\" it was like rubbing the sleep out of my eyes to meet another person with a different perspective on my problem and i came out thinking \"yeah, i did deserve more.\" the relief is immense.
best of luck. what type of tomatoes do you plant? i always use \'better boy\' and \'early girl\'.
