Its Monday! I still have this stupid cold or sinus infection or whatever it is. Its driving me nuts and I cant really take much of anything. I dont want to get an antibotic unless I'm cant take it anymore. I just wish it would go away and soon. Its killing me I thought it was getting better and then yesterday my sinuses were actually hurting. I dont know what that means. I'm still nervous about the new doctor. I go to them for my first consultation on August 29th. I dont know if they are actually going to check me or just go over my paper work. I'm so scared. I'll be 11weeks then and my last doctors app would have been 2 1/2 weeks prior. I just want to know that everything is ok with the baby. I'm really considering renting a fetal doppler off of babybeat.com its model #150A which has a recorder on it and it says you can use it anywhere between 8-12 weeks. It uses 3MHz. I really dont know alot about these things, but I do know I should be getting close to being able to hear the heartbeat on a doppler. But then I think I would be more scared if I couldnt hear it. When you have a doppler how often can you check? Does it cause any ray or harm to get to the baby? Im such a worry wart. I hate to waste 28-30 extra dollars a month if its not going to work. I am definitely going to rent a doppler. I need that peace of mind. I know it won\'t change anything and if I am going to lose the baby, well, a dopler won\'t change that but still... I need to do something. I am going crazy!
i thought about renting a dopplar. i have the same worries as you - what if i don\'t here anything? what does that mean? - and without the dr right there to ask i just thought it would be best for my sanity if i didn\'t get one. that would be awesome though. to be able to hear your baby\'s heart beat any time you felt like it!! i heard that the fda or whoever says that those don\'t cause any damage to the baby at all so if you do get one i wouldn\'t worry about that too much.
this is kinda a scary time to be changing dr\'s. but just remember, this is what they do all day everyday and if you have questions or concerns they\'re there to help you and your baby. good luck next week! i\'ll be thinking of you!
I rented the basic model. It was only 22 bucks a month. No recorder and not showing the beats per minute. U can easily tell the difference between yours and the babies and it does pick yours up pretty easily too. The first few times I couldn\'t find it. It is kinda tricky in the beginning. I started using mine at 13 weeks. My mom helped me the first few times and after that I could do it myself. I checked my baby every day and by the end of my 9 months I did it several times a day. He had no side effects from it either.
I work at a clinic so I just took home a doppler on the weekends and whenever I was getting nervous!! It was so nice for my mindsake,because whenever I just wanted a little extra reassurance that everything was okay I could do the doppler and hear the heartbeat.If I do get pregnant again I would probably seriously consider buying one just for the ease of mind it gave me!!Make sure you let us know how your appt goes!
