9 weeks

Pregnancy journal, please avoid if your in a bad place.
So time seems to be going a bit faster now the scan is over, I am 9 weeks today, which sounds a bit better to me, not long and I can tell people! Baby is apparently the size of a grape now which is quite exciting. I have informed my Rheumatologist that I am pregnant now and he has a fetal development specialist who is also a rheumatologist who is interested in helping me through my pregnancy (since I have Lupus which puts me in the high risk category) which should be good, since I will also be under an Obstetrician for the IVF and lupus high risk too. I will also be having a midwife too since all pregnant women in NZ are entitled to one and they deal with a lot of the less medical and more practical side of pregnancy as well as caring for you up to 6 weeks after birth. To be honest I will take all the specialists I can get!!! at this point I am hoping it means I get heaps of extra scans to keep an eye on little one!
So the Fertility clinic is referring me to the ob, my rheumy has referred me to the fetal lady and I have to find my own midwife......I have a list of names and telephone numbers but have no idea how you pick without meeting every single one!!I will start calling a few next week I guess, I have one recommendation so far so I guess ill start there?  So until I sort something or hear from one of the other two I have no idea what is next?? I like to have a goalpost to work towards so its a bit weird for me to just be waiting to hear.
I am still pretty lucky on the symptoms front although I wouldn't mind a bit more to make me more comfortable. I have pretty sore boobs but im still waiting for my nipps to change colour. I am definitely fat!!! and I have horrible bloating and mild constipation which makes it all pretty uncomfortable down there!! I am also getting a bit of nausea now which is good, basically if im not eating I feel queasy, not enough to stop me doing anything just the old constant salivating! then I eat and I feel heartburny sick!!
I basically feel like a walking fridge, I just keep piling food in and it just sits in there!! Plus I now feel like I am built exactly like a fridge haha!
My spotting has now completely gone, its been nearly 2 weeks since the last sign of it which is good. I am now considering whether I should buy a Doppler, I am so tempted but I think my partner will think I've lost the plot, up to now I am coming across as very calm and rational to him, its a very carefully constructed illusion id like to keep haha, the other day he asked me if id thought about names................."Joe" I said......"I've been thinking about names for the last 4 and a half years!!!! " Men are a crack up!

Glad to hear the spotting has stopped and that all is well so far. I am happy that you are going to be getting all that specialized help and how awesome is it that all women in NZL has access to a midwife, that is fantastic!! XO
