9 months
Looking back it's been 9 months since my last journal entry, I have come on here from time to time and tried to keep up with what's been going on, but work has taken over my life until this week.
so what's happened in this last 9 months
Jane my wife spent a month in hospital at the beginning of this year has now been diagnosed with fatty liver, scarring to the liver and scarring to her lungs, mainly caused by methotrexate she was on for her arthritis. Has now had to stop that since January so only on an anti inflammatory for the arthritis so in a lot of pain and discomfort.
me - well left the forum school where I had worked for 7 years, went to work off way ahead for 2 weeks then changed to job as a co-ordinator for a domicilliary homecare company. Staff shortages have meant I've been doing 7-9am care work 9-5 in the office co-ordinating and then most days 5-9 or 10pm care work !!! So like I said work took over. I had enough of it and was approached by another company to work for them as a senior carer /key worker for adults with learning difficulties in the community -just waiting for my police check to come back and get a start date, so will be changing jobs again.
weight - hmmm what can I say my heaviest was 316 lbs, weighed last week 310lbs so more or less back to where I started had got down to 220 mark, don't believe put so much back on.
had a health scare this week. Over last month been getting more and more tired all the time, put it down to work and cut back what I was doing, cut out working in the evenings, things didn't improve and on the 7th nearly passed out at a clients, got to office and burst into tears was so lethargic no strength to do anything, went home on a days annual leave, and got doctors appointment for next morning. During this visit he discovered a previously unheard heart murmur. Organised bloods and ECG on the wednesday and went back to see my own doctor on Monday 14th for results. Heart murmur was still there, ecg was fine but bloods showed I was fighting an infection. Because of the new heart murmur as well she thinks I might have an infection on one of my heart valves. Waiting for appointment for echocardiogram and have had more bloods done to see if my levels have improved at all, get those results tomorrow. Have taken this week off sick.
been doing calorie controlled diet since the diagnosis, have lost 4 lbs this week. It's hard going as can't exercise due to being too tired but also until they know cause of murmur not happy for me to exercise anyway. Will see how this coming week goes and the results of my bloods tomorrow.
Hope to catch up with all my friends on here and so sorry that I haven't been around much, hopefully new job will mean I can spend more time at home with wife and on here keeping in touch with my friends.
