The Gazetted Officers\' Cadre starts from Basic Pay Scale (i.e., B.P.S.), 17. He was selected as one by the Public Service Commission for the Province of Punjab and was the senior most person in a province which is the size of a country like Germany in a list of hunreds of his batch mates who were selected in the same year as his! It was a big achievement for him being son of clerk. Our father fought limited resources after our grand father passed away when our father was doing his bachelors degree. God bless his soul!
