My husband told me the other day that he really wanted to be nice to me, but that I made it impossible for him. I struggle with my self- worth and self-confidence because or him. My father thinks I work because of my disabled son; I work because it is the only place where I am valued and respected. If I had only my husband, I'd be depressed out of my mind. I have a lot of things going for me, things I've worked very hard to achieve. Maybe he feels threatened by this. He constantly tries to take away what is me, my essence. It's killing me. And on top of that I wonder if I'd ruin any marriage, if I'm like he says l am, and that I'd drive any man crazy. If I were to fall in love with another man and I were free, would I dare risk marrying again? Or would the trials of daily living ruin it? Would I ruin it? That knowledge would break my heart.
