Dear Fran

This is late again, sorry about that. I guess by now it's to be expected. So last month was exam time. It sucked, so incredibly stressful. Now on the other side of it all I did ok. I got a 2.1 all in all which is a pretty good result. I had hoped to do a little better in the exams considering how much stress it put me through but oh well, can't have everything. What happened the far side of exams makes up for it so I'm not hugely bothered about it.
So what's been happening is really the big thing I guess, what else is there to say about exam time than "well, exams happened". So since then I've got holidays sorted out. Woooo. On Monday I'm going to Somerset with some close friends. We're going to spend a week in a field with super noodles, vodka, a poker set and a tank of kerosene. We're going to have barbecues, get very drunk and just generally piss around for a bit. After that we're hopefully going to Egypt, I am with 3 others from the 7 or so that are going camping. Unfortunately there was that whole military coup 3 days ago so yeah, that might not be happening. If things clear up in the next couple of weeks it might be ok but it's looking a bit suspect right now. It's going to be fun to spend a couple of weeks with them though. They're a good bunch, even if several people have, separately, told us that we are the most incestuous group of friends. We keep having sex with each other, separately mind, while inebriated and when the mood is right but still... Anyway things could get interesting or at the very least, hilarious.
After all of that I'm going on holiday with the family which is going to be a lot of fun, you'll get another letter before we set off, hopefully, but I'm really looking forward to it so I felt like mentioning it. We're going to Italy, to Rome and to Herculaneum or Pompeii and it looks like it's going to be really good. I can't wait. After that instead of going straight home right now it looks like I'm going to be going to Strasbourg to see one of the girls that I was living with this year. She and I had a bit of a thing going on after the exam period was over. She's a very close friend, though it was purely for the physical aspect. It's going to be fun seeing where she's living over the summer for her year abroad. She's been telling me stories about what it's like to live in Strasbourg, a lot of it sounds good like the bars and the Cathedral (probably not visited in that order, people tend to frown on drunken churchgoing I think, but I feel like you'd have to have a fair amount to believe what they say in most sermons) though apparently where she has to live right now is pretty terrible. She's been referring to it as the mad house and there are two very young children and their fairly arsey parents, the rent's cheaper for her because she looks after the children sometimes but the parents have been changing the hours and it just seems like a nightmare. The plan right now is to just get a hotel room for the four days I'm staying there so she can get a bit of time away from them all. It should be really fun and I'm looking forward to it, though I've spent at least about 45 minutes on skype to her every day since leaving Uni and she was one of my closest friends when I was there so now that there's nothing going on I've very quickly run out of things to say and a lot of the time I'm just sat there looking at facebook or something and not saying anything. Also there are no shops near us out in the back end of nowhere so the only way to get condoms would be to buy them with my parents around while out shopping and I really really really don't want to have to do that so I'm going to have to look for a work around before we go abroad on the family holiday.
Beyond all this I'm not really sure what I want to talk about. Uh, I've started work on my dissertation now, still the president of the climbing club, I've moved into a new house for next year of Uni. My brother and sister have both started working but I'm still lazing around, there's no point in getting a job when I'm leaving in a couple of days. Life is pretty good at the moment, things aren't really getting me down right now, I'm just kind of drifting around and it feels pretty good.
By the way, please don't text me again.
See you later, stay well
P.s. if you come home at 8.30 in the morning to housemates having breakfast with lovebites covering your neck and still wearing the clothes you were wearing last night you will be questioned and may be embarrassed about the answers you will have to give, you have been warned.
