Day 8

So,  it's been 8 days since I took the induction dose.  The first few days, I had an upset stomache and some sniffles, nothinng much.  I've had swelling at the feet and ankles for a year or two, today, it seems as if the swelling is a little more than usual.  There is no pain associated with it so I'll just monitor the situation.
Yesterday I had some more intense pain (not debilitating) in the large lesion that I drained.  It drained more with a little rubbing and manipullation and the pain reduced. The discharge had more blood than has been present the last few days and was thicker.  I suspect it's the start of a secondary infection so I started back on the tetracycle (500mg twice a day).  The pain is very minor, just a bit of irritation when I move or chafe the area.
The swelling of the large lesion is greatly reduced and it feels like a cyst is forming at it's centre.  This is typical of how major lesions in the past hav healed for me.  This lesion has been present for many months and is the smallest it's been since it started causing problems.  I suspect the Humira is helping to keep the inflammation down.  The smaller lesion near the fold at the groin/hip joint is getting smaller and has no pain.  It still drains a bit but not much.
All in all, the HS is improved since I started this journal.  I'm not certain that Humira is helping yet as the HS symptoms were settling down after I drained the large lesion several weeks ago but I'm not in a lot of pain so that's good.  I take the second dose of Humira (2 syringes) in six days.
