I am sincerely touched by the kindness of the peole that I have as friends on DS. My list is short, as I prefer it that way. It gives me the opporttunity to get to know my friends better, by putting more of an effort into learning all about them, and by being supportive and understanding of their day to day struggles. I love knowing that I am not alone and that there are people on DS that I can turn to, who truly 'get' who I am, and understand how overwhelming life can be for me on occasion. Although I believe that the conflicts I've encountered have strengthened me considerably, there are times when my strength is hiding behind my fears. My newly acquired friends on DS have been there for me to lean on. For this I'll be forever grateful! As most of you know my Mom and I are not very close. She's not really been there for me in a way that I'd have liked, if I had any say in the matter. She is who she is, and is fortunate to have a following of people that others are envious of. Her desire to Mother me was not as important for her though. She believed I was strong enough to fend for myself. I grew up quickly as a result, left home at 17, and fell into hard times quickly thereafter...I lost a lot of faith in people, relationships, and love. My self esteem was flushed down the toilet very early in life and regaining it has always been my greatest challenge. I've had my moments when I've believed in life again, but they were often short lived. I'd easily fall back into a life filled with second guessing anybody attempting to extend their hand. I didn't celebrate Mother's day this year. My point in bringing this up now is because today I feel refreshed in knowing that there are people on DS, my friends specifically, who truly give a damn. All of whom are women....As I may not have made much of a point in acknowledging you on that particular day, I am now. To those with or without children, my point remains the same.....You've helped me to believe in friendships again. More importantly you've helped me to trust women again. How unfortunate, that I chose for so many years to allow one woman's lack of regard for my well being to affect my feelings for women in general....I believe in life's journey, and accept the lessons I'm taught everyday full heartedly. Todays lesson I dedicate to you! I thank you from the bottom of my newly restored soul.Your caring words, and the beautiy that they convey, have made me a better person. My inner struggles are lessoned knowing you have become a part of my life...I salute you all. And wish you a happy belated Mothers Day.....Not from your son, but from an adult child relishing in my restored faith in a woman's love........xxxxxxxxxxxxxxoooooooooooooooxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Add a Comment

Wow! I have no children and will never have my own biological child. My husband and I hope to someday adopt, God willing. But I just needed to thank you. Mother\'s Day is always extremely hard for me, but this thoughtful wish of yours has made me feel special and loved. Thank you for caring so much and for sharing your kind words with me. God bless you now and always! -- Sydni
