Claudia has inspired me to write a poem. Haven't written one for many years but feel it might be an outlet in order for me to express my emotions a bit differently. And, perhaps I'll enjoy it...Michael's poems are also very inspiring. If it works for the two of you, it wouldn't hurt giving it a shot...

Here goes...



Wishing for a river,
covered in ice,
concealed inner turmoil,
blades beneath my feet

Wishing for a river,
not a soul to be seen,
not a word to be heard,
or a struggle to defeat

Wishing for a river,
An icy covered mass
A time of tranquility
the hum of my heart beat,

Wishing for a river...


It is an attempt at least, at expressing the inner struggle I experience at this time of year. Spring exposes me, allows for vulnerability, makes it harder to hide, and to bury my emotions.

Thanks for the opportunity, Claudia and Michael to once again tap into my expressive, albeit lost, creative energy...by example, through your well manicured and inspiring poetry!

I dedicate this poem not only to the two of you, but to my buddies Lisa and Christine, who continue to listen to 'my goings on', put up with my dot dot dot's, and unselfishly strengthen my insides,...at for me, an especially frightening time of year...
