I'm feeling especially upset tonight. I think I may have offended one of my favourite Online friends. it certainly wasn't my intention to do so!!! So I thought I should clear the air and get a few things off my chest in order for this type of misunderstanding not to surface again...
first of all I have always been a very affectionate person and for the most part believe that one of my greatest qualities is my ability to be a friend. I care about people in an honest and compassionate way, and even though the majority of my intimate relationships haven't lasted long...the depression and bi polar being a bit of a factor. And I have had difficulty keeping a job....usually losing interest in the day to day 'work thing' and ending up moving on... The friendship thing on the other hand, has been something I've rarely had problems with...
Now ,to the point I'm trying to make, I didn't share with my Online friend that I was in a relationship, and may have given her the wrong impression. I believe she may be feeling that I left out an essential part of who I am in my writings to her. for this, I'm very sorry...It wasn't an intentional thing. The subject ,I guess, just didn't come up. To be honest my partner is so quiet and uncommunicative that there isn't a whole lot to say. Its perhaps not the most romantic of relationships but we care about each other and I'm content...
And that brings us to the second issue, which ISN'T an issue for the friend I've offended,...I'm gay...Being new to Internet chatting, I decided to be somewhat guarded about this topic at first, in order to test the waters. A couple of you know, some may have figured it out, and some may not know at all.
Homophobia is still out here. I've been bashed, lost jobs because of it, been called a faggot, etc, etc. It is NOT that I'm a closet case, quite the contrary, just not all together prepared to blurt it out right at first. Right or wrong, its the way I prefer to handle letting people know. My father literally went for my throat when he found out. It was horrible. He almost killed me. I'm NOT feeling sorry for myself...I'm just explaining as clearly as I know how why I'm not as out about it than one might except of someone in 2007...
So to clear the air, to those of you on my friend list, I'm in a committed, monogamous relationship, and it is..with a man. As a few of you already know, I'm pretty much an open book...So, at this point, there ain't much left that you don't know...LOL
To the friend I may have offended, Again I'm really sorry, and sincerely hope to hear from you soon.............
Hugs to all,
Roscoe

...and you wonder what I love you sooooooooooooooooo MUCH!!!
Roscoe-
Your journal entry is so moving. And I am so sorry that I came across in such a crass and abrupt way. (chatting without me knowing was one of the things my ex did....he did MUCH MORE than than...but that\'s another story-that\'s why I said what I did....but I\'m sorry I did it in such an insensitive way). In no way, have you ever offended me....I just want anyone to get hurt. You are such a great guy....and f....the bastards that can\'t accept difference. That\'s their problem...not yours (although I\'m so sorry you have had to bear the wrath of the ignorance).
oops...in reading my entry i stated \"I just want anyone to get hurt\"-duh...I DIDN\'T want anyone to get hurt.
