A potential client was here for a few hours today. She wants me to assist her in decluttering and staging her home for resale. Came to me, rather than vice a versa, in order to see my artwork for future consideration. May buy two of my pieces, so I'm pleased about that!
Her and I got talking about 'memory loss' for at least an hour. Both of us fearing that we may get Alzheimer's because our memories have changed so much over the last couple of years. She's 11 years older than I am so has probably lost some of her memory do to simply aging. Me, on the other hand....
I can't help but question, whether all the medications I've taken, and are taking, are messing up my head even more than it already is. My memory is just terrible!!!
So, back to the client thing...She showed up at 2:30 as planned...I on the other hand am on the computer in my track pants chatting with Claudia, a good friend of mine on DS. You see, I'd totally FORGOTTEN the client was coming. Had to run around like crazy, trying to get dressed and to the door...whew. I was lucky, she was still there, but looking a little perplexed...
It seems the memory problem may be getting even worse...
If I drink, even within reason, I'll likely not even remember much from the night before. Very scary! And the funny thing is, prior to maybe 3 years ago I had a photographic memory. Didn't need a phone book or day planner, nothing. It was all stored in my head. Could tell you every detail of every conversation I'd had in the past, etc., etc...
Now that the photographs have faded, I have to retrain myself to remember things differently. It has been a challenge...I'm fearing that it is the meds that are causing this to happen...and whether the problem will get even worse in time, before I'm even at an age when this should be happening...(?)
