MOM

My recent conversations with mom were great!  I consider this a blessing and a gift from God because I know that she's content.  She spoke clearly and coherently, which reminded me of how she was prior to Alzheimers.  However, I realize that her condition will deteriotate as time goes on, but for now....one day at a time.  Hearing the joy and laughter in her voice means everything to me, and my children.  I could not ask for a more rewarding gift, than knowing my mom is at peace.  What a blessing!!!

I haven\'t spoken to my Mom since she decided to sing happy birthday to me the day my Annaya was Heaven Born. I thought it was extremely insensitive. We\'ve never really had much of a relationship and even less of one since I\'ve become a Mom.

I can empathize as I have watched Alzheimers steal the mind of two Aunts. The good moments are those in which they remember who you are.

Hugs!!!

that is such a blessing to know she is content and coherent somewhat. it may last a while then it might not. so try not to be let down. i know my grand mother had that and it was so horrible. i mean i was a teenager. it was scary but i did get to go through it so i can go through it with my dad. he is getting very senile. cant drive good . sometimes good, some bad. so i worry about that. he is my abuser. so i detach from him = with love. i cant say i love him alot. it is far from that. i am mostly bitter. but i dont say anything bad to him. he still tries to belittlle me but i just ignore it. and i change the subject then he shuts up. so enjoy your mom\'s peace and im sure you are at peace also seeing her like that. i just noticed this is december joournal. take care \"hugs\" to ya
