It is 430 AM and I am just home.
Scarey call from a Social Worker at 8 AM to say Pat was not breathng well.
Long story short, he is septic, full of poison. He had his colon removed tonight along with 6 litres of fluid. They weren't sure he was going to tolerate the surgery, it was over 6 hours.
No perforation.
He has many hurdles ahead. He had dialsis today also as his kidneys were not working.
He will have more, but not to be a permanent thing.

My heart goes out to you. It is very scary to get a call from anyone at a hospital. Is Pat is Surrey Memorial Hospital?

I wish I could say everything was going to be OK; but, I am not with you or him. I can say that if he is in SMH that they will do the everything that they can to help to gain healthy situation as quickly as possible. I will say a prayer for him and hope that he responds well to all the medications and treatment that he is about to endure.

I also hope that you take care of yourself too so that you will be able to be there with Pat to help emotionally deal with all of this.

Big hugs to you both. Shoshanna

This really sucks, I am so sorry to here that this is going on, and he seemed to be doing so well. Did this just come about or was he having symptoms, pain or anything? We\'ll say our prayers for you and Pat.
