I went to my family practioner today just to sort of check up on how I was doing.  With having Fibromyalgia, I want to know if I am healing normally from the surgery and radiation because I am still hurting in some ways.  She took a long time with me discussing my physical and emotional state, and even asking about my family.  I seem to be leveling off finally and getting by with three pain pills a day, along with something to sleep with and an antidepressant.  I told her I was also taking Menopause Balance from Shaklee to help with the hot flashes and she told me that was ok.  She is referring me to physical therapy for my left leg, as it seems to be more pronounced turned to the left than it was before, and I'm thinking during the six hour surgery it may have been dislocated or something.  She told me it will be interesting to see how I'm doing a year from now.  She indicated that it would take a full year before all would be recovered from the surgery, so that sort of comforted me that I couldn't expect too much too soon.  I was depressed because I thought I would be healed up sooner than this, but the body takes it's time!  Having Fibromyalgia really complicates things, and also having a car accident a year ago plunged me into worse pain, so I'm looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.   (We also went through bankruptcy and foreclosure and moving within the last couple years.)   The biggest thing I need to watch is my attitude and emotions, and that will not change, no matter what happens.  I thought I was finished with my goal when I finished treatment, but I think I need to start a goal that stays with me day by day for the rest of my life.  Maybe a good affirmation or Bible verse to start my day and hold on to at all times.  I'm going to find a new motto for my life!  All suggestions are welcome!
