OK, I finally went through all of my seeds and plan to get a couple packages out in the next couple of weeks for those who want some. That said, if the seeds were from my first year gardening on the farm (2003), I decided to pitch them. Heck, I was keeping packs with water stains on them! It probably would not be worth anyone's while to try to germinate those. I also had seeds I had saved that didn't work for me either (pepper seeds; have to study saving those apparently). I do have lots of flower seeds saved from last year that I will be sharing. Finally, I have Pineapple Sage Seeds--truly an experiment on those, but I will be sending you some, Feisty! That said, I entertained myself setting up my new seed file which is very organized! I found an old hanging folder file box in the barn, so for $4 for files, I was able to set up a completely organized file of all of my seeds. A couple Christmases ago, Guy bought me a Dymo LetraTag which he thought was really dumb, but I've gotten great use of it. I make labels for seeds I have started, adhere them to craft sticks, and presto: professional labels. I also used it to label my office file with important house crap as well as my new seed file box. So much fun I had sorting and filing all of my seeds. The best thing about the Dymo is that you can make either paper labels or plastic labels on different colors of stock (I just use white). The cartridges are not really cheap (about $6), but each one makes tons of labels with different sizes and styles of letters. Really, it is cool and even does numbers and special characters... Ah, I'm simply illustrating how truly bored I am! I now have two pups laying as close to me as they can possibly get even though I've not heard more thunder, only rain. They will really be mad when I got out to fill birdfeeders...

I am the only thing in the house that my wife has not labeled with her labeling machine, she loves the thing LOL. Well, actually I cant see my back so one can never be sure :0
Girlfriend you are THE most organized person that I know! I\'m so impressed. You\'re bored you label seeds; I\'m bored I write poetry.
HooHum!!!!
I got a label maker for Christmas!! I love it! I\'ve gone mad with it. I\'m glad to see someone else has the labeling sickness. :-)
I have a gardner question for you. Do you have any suggestions for plants that flower for a long season but like the shade?
So sounds like you\'re big in to seeds, plants, and all that stuff. I can hardly differentaite a tree from a flower, that\'s how terrible I am in that field.
Looks like you watched Soda and timed him. I wasn\'t actually sure how long it took him before he couldn\'t handle it with the cake (lol).
Anyways, thank you for all the comments you have been leaving for me today. I appreaciate you so much:)
Hope you have a good evening my dear friend.
lots lof love and hugs to you.
Cj, i can see the excitement in your writing! gardening 2008, it\'s here! i\'m so very happy, that you are excited about gardening. You are so very organized! i also save seeds, from previous gardening seasons, and this Autumn, i am going to harvest more sunflower seeds, 1000\'s of them, and i am going to send you some jars of sunflower seeds. i have these nice canning jars, that i buy at walmart, i love them! i look forward to sending you sunflower seeds, from my mammoth sunflowers, and you could bake some, or dry them, and replant them. i look forward to sending you some. i sent my ds brother Taino and ds sis Cyn 2 jars of mammoth sunflower seeds, and Taino has told me, he\'s going to plant them. :)
my mom\'s sunflower (it was a fantasia mix sunflower), there\'s a picture of it in my gallery, and i harvested the seeds, and some friends wanted seeds from her sunflower, so i sent some out in the mail. :)
Enjoy this great gardening season! :)
sending my very best wishes, many blessings, and big sunny hugs, and sweet blue sky, and sounds of songbirds singing, from CT! :)
Oh Cj, I need you to come to my house and get it organized. Although once you entered you would be like...\"your on your own\". LOL Oh you have got me itching to plant. I just told Bob last night I was counting the days till the flower seeds are ready to go into the ground.
I\'m so excited...Pineapple Sage. I know I could go and buy a plant, but it\'s just not the same as my special \"Cj\" plant.
I spent some time dividing carex and heucheras yesterday. I planted some herb seeds in my laundry/seed starting room. I have a pretty sweet set up with grow lights and fans...it\'s warm in there too. I need to cut my scented geraniums back so I can propagate some new plants. Some of them are 50 years old! Can you believe my Lavender Dentata in blooming right now? My jasmine is just about to bloom, it\'s all full of fat, pink buds. I can\'t wait, the smell is euphoric. It covers the perimeter of my deck, at least 35 feet, and I have 2 obelisks Pete made me out of copper that I planted cuttings in a couple years ago. They are 6 feet tall and the jasmine covers them now.
Bring on the dirty fingernails. I can\'t wait to get started for real. Love you Cj. xoxo jen
I have seed problems myself. How in the heck do you get morning glory seeds to grow? I split the shell of the seed, like it said to on the pack. I even tried soaking them overnight, like Okra seeds. Still, nothing.
you sure have a green thumb cj.. I leave the planting to my daughter I just do the picking and canning of what she grows our routine works got great..
You sound like you have two green thumbs! I love to plant things but sometimes they come up sometimes they don\'t. I need one of your green thumbs!lol
You should create a gardening book for brown thumbs! :D
