NEW SEEDS!!! NEW POSSIBILITIES! I FINALLY received my seed order today! I happily tucked it in my coat as if it were my babe to walk back to the house. I have resurrected a portable filing cabinet in which to store the new stuff--I've just got to pick up more hanging files... AND, before the New Moon, I will start the onion seeds (I have until Feb. 6th--next Wed.) so I best get busy! On Monday, I will venture to town and will pick up fresh soil (with any luck, WalMart with have organic--pray for it!), and I can get the onions started. They are the only root crop I want to start inside, and they need the time before I plan in April. Other than that, the indoor greenhouse is now inside with it's new plastic cover--fits like a glove! Scrubbed everything down and may buy a new grow bulb. The old one still works, but plaaeeezzzeee... They are under $10... I may even transplant my aloe babies (I now have two), and put them under the light. Any recommendations Feisty??? GrammieP??? Maybe some research for the Internet, but I always feel better with personal recommendations--any other dirt sluts are welcome to respond! Finally, GO PATRIOTS!!! (for Marti!)

I have replanted aloe babies and find that they do best in cactus soil. Just be careful not to over water them.
And where is Feisty? I haven\'t heard from here in over a week. I hope she\'s okay.

i love organic soil! i am sure, walmart will have it, if not, if you have a gardnening nursery near you, they should have organic soil. organic soil is my favorite, and i love putting organic soil around the stem bases, as it rains, or when i water the plants, the nutrients seep down, and nourishes the roots. my dad taught me that. :)

Martie is right, cactus mix with a little extra pumice works great. Then as much light as you can give them. I\'ve also mixed organic soil with builders sand and it\'s worked ok too. xoxo
