IN ONE MORNING!!! I got rid of BOTH Miller boyz in ONE MORNING!!! Now that they've practically eaten me out of house and home, they both headed north independently today. Jim went home because he has been here a week, and Guy followed a hour later after his Mom called. The flashing around her chimney is leaking, we have one good day before the "monsoon", and Guy's Dad is feels dizzy when he tries to get up on the roof (he's in his 70s and has no business doing that anyway). Jim is not good with building and fixing things, Guy's other brother is also not mechanically inclined, so that leaves Guy. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE MY HOUSE ALL TO MYSELF, even for just one night! Whooo Hooo... I think I'll make chicken soup with the leftovers from the other night, and just relax (and change the bed and wash the towels, but that means I get to sleep in a FRESH BED tonight ALL ALONE! My good friend Miss Judie aka Gallery Mom and I both love a fresh bed, and especially when we don't have to share!). So, the only things I have to do that don't thrill me to death is feed the outside dogz and haul in wood. I was going to ask Guy to haul it then thought the better of it. I've done it before, I can do it again, and honestly, I was just so looking forward to an entire evening to myself that a couple of more difficult chores are fine. Besides, it's not icy or snowing or raining so it will be not too difficult... (famous last words...) I finally washed and boxed the CDs that came out of the rack I sent to the basement, so now I just have one nice box of my CDs. It's much better to just have them in a box as they just got dusty in my rack--I'm not a very good housekeeper, and this was the first dusting they have gotten since I moved here 5 years ago. (Yes, I know my Mom is cringing as she is such a clean-freak... That gene must have skipped a generation, thank Goddess as I'd drive myself nuts with a woodburner--always a mess.) An entire day of sitting right here watching my beautiful birds who are sooooo happy! I just filled everyone's feeder along with new suet cakes for the woodpeckers. I have 3 feeding stations that surround the house so that I can watch them. Long ago and far away, I received beautiful windows which are 2 ft. wide X 6 ft. tall. When I designed my house, I doubled them up in my little home. Honestly, it's like a live on a porch my house is so open. I love it for viewing my beautful farm, and at night, I have blinds so that I still feel private (I mean, I don't want the deer to see me at night running around in my pj's after all...He he he). Oh, I'm such a lucky womyn! I ran the vacuum yesterday and picked up, so my house is nice a cozy with a warm fire, and no men with whom to deal! (Yes, I love them, but I also LOVE my alone time--something else Miss Judie taught me!) You know what that means! Chicken soup for lunch, and ICE CREAM FOR DINNER! YUMBO!!! PS: It did it again... So glad I remembered to copy!

Oh yes, it is nice to have the house to yourself and a clean bed to sleep in all by yourself. Because my mother in law and I spoiled my daughter, I have to sleep in the same bed with her or she starts having a fit. It was okay, except now she gets right in behind me to sleep and is always hogging my part of the bed and my pillow. I don\'t want to roll over on her and squish her. And I want to sleep in the same bed as my husband too. I miss that. It took me forever to get used to sleeping with him in the bed. I always liked to get in the bed and stretch out all over the mattress. You sound like you have a really nice home. You sound like you\'re living my dream, actually. Except for being entirely alone at times. I depend on my husband a lot. I get a break from mothering when he gets home from work. I used to love being alone, though. I haven\'t been alone in so long, I don\'t know whether I like it or not! Enjoy your \"you\" day and night! :)
Oh gosh how I love a clean bed. If I had the energy, I would change the lines every day! But, we know that\'s not going to happen so I\'ll think of you in a clean bed by yourself. Yipee!!!
Don\'t know anything about wood stoves, although there is one in our basement but I find it too scary, so it\'s down there collecting dust. And the little wood pile is probably crawling with termites!
This Spring, Dump Man is coming and hauling away a ton of stuff.
Enjoy your time alone. Alone time is a treasure. hugs ...
a wonderful day for you Cj! i love your description, of watching your bird friends. That sounds so peaceful, calm, and relaxing. You are enjoying sweet simple pleasures in life. :)

I also love fresh sheets especially flannel ones in the winter right out of the dryert..and the bed to myself seems I do sleep better. cuz at least when my legs get to doing there danceing routine in the middle of the night the only one it wakes is me..wish i had your home it sounds so peaceful.
What a great journal, for a while I was there with you watching those beautiful birds and smelling the chicken soup. We have a woodburner too but wouldn\'t be without it.xx
