OK, I guess I'm going to bake tomorrow for holiday gifts as it is one thing I can afford to do.  And, I think I'm doing the boring same ole, same ole because they always work.  I hate it when I try something new, and then, it doesn't work and I've wasted ingredients. So, here is the line up:Chocolate Chip CookiesPeanut Butter CookiesGinger Snaps (here, I admit, I do excell--mine are GREAT, the trick is fresh                          ground pepper!)And, I may tackle my maternal Grandmother's Sugar Cut-Outs -- by far, the best recipe of all that I have!I would love to do Russian Tea Cakes, but I'll just eat every last one!  They are my all time favorite!  Ditto on Cream Cheese Brownies!  I only make those for me, and my big tumtum will give me away on that one!The cookies are gifts for the men in my life (Brother-in-Laws and Guy).  The Ginger Snaps are for my Mother-in-Law; the Sugar Cut-Outs for my Father-in-Law (mind you, Guy and I are not married, but those are the best descriptions of these absolutely wonderful people in my life).I may get out the knitting needles or sewing machine for other gifts.  I do make wonderful knitted coasters and could make hotpads for hot pans...  We'll see...  I really have no budget for buying gifts, and I hate that I can't spend any money (ugh, I think my friends and family see me coming and cringe...or at least want to do so).  Yeah, I know, hand made gifts are the best, but plaeezzeee...  I've got Roasted Peppers and Hot Dill Slices (pickles) from the garden as well.  Maybe I'll really go crazy and do bath salts (I've got a liter of nice ExtraVirginOliveOil along with perfumed oils from the gallery-- NOW, I am really thinking!).We'll see what I get into making, but at least, this journal got the juices flowing...

mmmmmmmmmm those cookies! Im gonna start calling you Betty! Really Christmas has become so commercialized. You have changed your lifestyle so you should just do what you can as far as gifts go. In my family we just buy for the kids and the adults just enjoy eating and talking. I want you to relax and enjoy the holidays! HUGS, Nancy
p.s. I would love getting food gifts!
