A FINAL DEER UPDATE on the farm:  I was so pleased to see a big ole Buck on the North end of the farm last night...  The boyz saw him too, but he just stood there and looked at them saying, "I just survived a week of shooting... I hope you don't think that you scare me one little bit!"  Such a beautiful animal, and I'm glad that he has survived another season!  (I'll bet he's the one Guy took a long shot at and missed...)This morning, I had a herd of 6 (yes that is SIX) doe cross the field, one of whom was one of the little twins who were born in the Spring.  I fear that one of them did not survive the hunt, but I'm not giving up hope just yet.We have one more extra weekend of hunting Dec. 15 & 16.  Guy won't be hunting; we always feel very blessed with one.  Besides, I really don't have room in the freezer.  What a blessing!  I am so lucky!

Nature is amazing. It destroys and restores itself, with or without our intervention everyday...I just love to watch.

I love deer they are so beautiful especially in the snow! My husband cannot shoot a deer so he hunts quail every year in Hoxie, KS. It sounds like you are snowed in so I hope Guy gets home to help with the wood and dogs. It sounds so cozy with the Christmas decorations up! You make a big cup of tea and enjoy.......Hugs&Love, Nancy
p.s. We are supposed to get a winter mix in the morning. I am looking forward to it now that I dont work!

I too have had deer in the yard. They are so magnificent. Rarely do we get the priviledge of seeing a buck; mostly does and fawns. I\'m so glad hunting season is over and they can rest in peace!
Sunny today but snow due later this afternoon. Beth and Ron can\'t wait to go skiing. Saturday morning is the their first big day!!!!
Have a great weekend my friend and enjoy your decorations.
