If I needed to get my long-sleeved flannel shirt, my friends who just moved into the late 1800's church are freezing their asses off... Sorry, they are probably not doing well though have no phone until tomorrow.  And, Goddess knows when they will have Internet service...  All I do know is that they are cold, cold, cold...I'm not sure why we seem so surprised with the Ohio temperatures.  Afterall, it IS mid-November.  If you listen to the weathermen, "the sky is falling".  Ok, that's only because it was in the 60's yesterday, but that is why they call it "Indian Summer".Today, I finally gave up and composted the last two WalMart bags of green peppers along with two Black Diamond Yellow Flesh Watermelons (which I only kept to carve into Jack-O-Lanterns--never did carve them and visualized the burning Jack-O's instead...).  I'll be eating peppers until next summer's harvest so although I'm sad to compost them, there is simply no more room in my cupboards or freezers.  We need to concentrate on eating what in those freezers because deer season is only a week and a half away.  Goddess willing, we will get one of the three we are allowed to harvest.  I do love deer meat and nothing ever goes to waste...  We are usually blessed with one...

Did the Indians have some kind of dance to make it warm in November? Seriously, I never understood what Indians had to do with a warm fall. But I\'m kind of slow.

It\'s hard to compost anything you grow isn\'t it? I am getting really damn sick of tomatos...they are still ripening on the vine! I just look at it this way, composting them allows you to feed the soil that enables us to grow too many next year. Hugs and kisses-Jen
