PS: I have not cried about BigBig as much today... The woman at the Animal Shelter told me she's had the same thing happen (she lives on a farm as well). She thinks sometimes dogz just go off to die instead of causing the owner the grief of burial. I think I will symbolically have a ceremony of burying a photo for complete closure. There are many great dogz at the Shelter right now, litters of 4 pups, and I may just adopt two little ones to keep LilLil company as he seems lonely... I admit that I've been giving him extra love and treats, and I've even allowed him on the front deck which is usually a no-no because it makes it hard to get in and out of the house and everyone drags in dog hair clumps... Oh, well, that's what vacuums are for and I have all the time in the world...

thats what our dog bear did..everyoen in household was attatched to him big time. He was part chow and everybodys bed partner...he jumped beds all night to not leave any kid out..sorry to hear you lost him
Our old, one eyed Pug, Zoom, did something like this last year. He would try and hide in the house...behind doors, under beds, etc. He was at least 16..we\'re not sure, we rescued him as a young puggy. Our Other pug, Jimmy, was devastated. We let him watch Zoom \"go to college\" so he\'d know what was going on. I was inconsolable. The best thing I did, even though I said I wouldn\'t, was get my puppy Artie. He\'s not a replacement, but he helps fill the empty place in my heart Zoom left. Now Jimmy is packing his bags and getting ready to go \"to college\" any day now.....can\'t even think about it. Got him 2 weeks after my Dad died. He\'s been my little buddy for 15 years. I\'m trying not to be selfish. Love you Cj...Jen
