We all had a wonderful day on the farm!   The pups and I walked over 6 miles, we FINALLY pickled some roasted peppers--Goddess, I have so many in the garden to do.  I must buy more jars tomorrow, and double the recipe to have enough juice... OK, the recipe was problematic as I was doing it; now I've learned many things.  First, clean out the peppers before roasting especially if you can't feel your hands.  Roast peppers on the grill as I'll have a larger surface area--broiler is not as quick or as thorough as I'd like.  Double the juice and all should be just fine!  Tomorrow or Thursday are other days...  Not going to stress as peppers will hold on the vine...All I can say is that I absolutely love my life on this farm.  If MS had not interferred, I would still be working in corporate America wondering if this was all there was...  Instead, MS taught me that each day is a special gift.  I started the day with severe back spasms--took Advil and moved forward.  Pups don't let me just sit, they MUST go out!!!  They kept me moving all day and tonight as they must have bladders the size of a pea (can you say SPOILED?).  It's all good because I forgot to be in pain.  I forgot to pity myself.  I forgot I have MS...  With pups who MUST pee, I managed to log over 6 miles.  All I can say is that I'd recommend pups with small bladders to anyone who needs to move!  Of course, I punch out at 6 p.m. and they've been in bed since, but this is when the early darkness is used to my benefit.  Besides, they're AWFUL TIRED little puppups!   xoxoxo Cj

Yummy, yummy! Cooking the peppers on the grill is how Uncle Joe of Brooklyn (the original farmer in hubby\'s Italian family) cooks them and they are delicious! You have lots to do and it keeps you busy and forgetting all your aches and pains and of course, MS.

I love hearing of your little pups. I\'m guessing from the picture they are Maltese. How many do you have? I have Lily who is an apricot Cockapoo. Best dog we\'ve ever owned. She is such a lovey lap dog and she keeps me moving. I think her little bladder finally got a bit bigger now that\'s she\'s nearly 2 but she still loves to go out for a pee and walk.

Don\'t work too hard with all those veggies. Marti

Next year I\'ll come and help...and bring my pugs with their pea sized bladders. How fun! I\'m off to pick my yellow pear tomatos to make greek relish. I hope I have some parsley without swallowtail catterpillers. Let\'s hope.-Jen
