I don't know if I can do this much longer. I am currently sitting in the hospital and have been for nearly a month at Hubby's bedside. After he was hospitalized in December for his heart attack and UTI. Only this time he had what they call a whipple surgery to remove 2 renal cell carcinoma leisons off his pancreas. The whipple is where they remove the head of the pancreas, but he also had a lesion in the tail so they had to remove that too. He now only has 1/3 of his pancreas left and is currently on insulin until his remaining 1/3 pancreas starts working if it does. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. The surgery lasted about 8 1/2 hours and it was a real tough surgery, according to the doctors one of the worst a body can go through besides open heart. Thn 4 days after the surgery he had a reaction to one of the pain meds and developed an infection in the tail end of the pancreas. It's a long long road to recovery. Right now he is having a difficult time eating as he has no appetite (Yes he is receiving TPN) Poor guy is constantly nauseous and in a 9 out of 10 pain most days. But he is slowly recovering and hopefully we can go home in a week or two. If you think about it please add us in your prayers.

Hey Ferr--I tried to post a couple days ago but DS ate my post. I am so sorry to hear everything that you guys have been going through. It sounds very, very difficult for both of you. Hope you are hanging in there and finding some small joys when you can. I\'ll send positive thoughts that he continues to improve and you can head home soon. Keep us posted!
