Update

Wow, what a crazy November for those of us in the Pacific Northwest. 2 1/2 weeks ago we had unusually high winds and a tornado actually touched down in the little town close to where I live. Your not gonna believe this one either. It hit the one and only trailer park in the town. I was driving home from work at 1:30 AM and I suppose the windstorm or what ever followed me up the river canyon. I drove up our hill which is 2,000 vertical feet from the town and got to within 1 mile of home before I was stopped by a tree across the road. I parked my car in a wide spot in the road climbed over the fallen tree and proceeded to walk the rest of the way home at 3 A M. I got to my driveway and found another tree across my driveway, so had to climb over that one to get the rest of the way up the hill. I just got in the door when our fire department tones went off, so I grabbed my gear took off down the driveway to a neighbors house and borrowed their ATV. Next thing I know we are all without power and phones. Our volunteer fire department spent the rest of the night checking on people to make sure everyone was OK and no trees had fallen across houses, we actually lost 10 trees on our place alone that night, but nothing on any buildings. We also chain sawed many trees that were across roadways. We were without power for 3 days and luckily we have a 6500 watt generator, and a fireplace so we were OK. Oh and believe it or not my cell phone actually worked. I went to work the next day and there were about 25 trees that had fallen across the highway from our town to the town where I work 50 miles away. The road crews were busy cutting the last of them out from across the highway when I went to work that day. I suppose I was very lucky I didn't get squished by one of them big trees coming home.The next week we got hit with frigid temperatures in the -10 degree range with more winds, And then following that we have been hit with the mother of all snowstorms. Of course I have had to go to work in all of this mess and try and get over a bout of bronchitis, but I am surviving. Had a wonderful Thanksgiving and finally got a few days off to spend with my kids and Grandchildren. Even got to go hunting where my daughter harvested a monster buck with a 294 yard shot. Got home from their place on Sunday to 18 inches of new snow so was up half the night plowing us out. Hubby had to go to work @ 5 AM the next day so he got out of the plowing. I got quite a bit plowed Sunday evening and then Monday got the rest of it done before I broke the winch cable on my ATV. Shucks no more plowing. Well until Hubby gets some new winch cable. Oh and the forecast for the entire week is more snow followed by even more snow. Just wanted to let you all know I am still alive and still breathing and Hope you all had a Teriffic Thanksgiving.
