Saints preserve us from the frustration of living with a giant toddler.Dad forgot my name today.  I said same as your mother's first name.  He forgot that, too.I am scared to live that long if he is sample o flong life in this family.  My sister reminded me that his sister is a few years  older than he is and in her right mind.  Maybe it is just the men who go round the bend.  Or maybe it is the lung ailments.

Hi, Carolyn.
Dad was born in April, 1920 in this very house.
Sister and I are 3rd, and likely last, generation to live here. Neither brother lives here. None of the nieces or nephews come around since soft-touch Mom died in 1990. I don\'t even know how many grand-kids and step-grand kids brother has now.
anyway, back to Dad. He has good days in summer when the sun comes back. He can get out for walks, fresh air and to sit and feed \'his\' chipmunk. He had one eating peanuts from his hand last year. The exercise gets the blood moving like it does not in the winter. More blood to the brain means he makes more sense to us, and himself, in the summer. It is not alzheimers disease. He knows he is not saying what he wants to say and it makes him mad that we do not understand him.

Is he on a lot of medication? Maybe that also contributes...

Only ones I can think of off hand are Flomax, Prevacid (sp?), and Altace. After this radiation thing is done, the PA-C suggested having a local neurologist check him over.
He can never recall if he took the pills, so sister is going to put them in one of those 7-day pill dispensers. I have one for my morning and evening pills.
Today was his last radiation treatment. They gave him a certificate of completion, and sent home orders to follow up with the oncologist, the surgeon and his regular doctor. Well, since sister doesn\'t trust the people on that side of the center any farther than she can throw me ( I weigh about 290 lb.), that appointment likely will not be kept. She said if he needs any more treatments she\'ll call her own oncologist.
So that is how it stands now.
