Scared

I suffer from Muscle weakness in multiple muscles in both my legs. I have difficultly getting up from a chair and walking up stairs and walking, off balance and ALWAYS afraid of falling, therefore I walk as if I'm on egg shells.This started maybe 12 or more years ago. I recently just obtained Medical Insurance. Now I was suggested to see a Neurologist. The  Orthopedic put on her script to the Neurologist to consider Muscular Dystrophy and Neuropathy. 
I am SO frighten that I cannot bring myself to see a Neurologist. My Mother had the same thing as well as other family members Non of them had MD.
I wish I could stop being fearful,but I just can't. I don't want to be in a wheelchair then die.
I am beside myself.
