I feel kind of bad today. My oldest daughter was very selfish acting and we got into a argument over, since I'm the Dad, I was supposed to do all of the cooking. I had made pork and saurkraut in the slow cooker, but she wanted home made pizza bread. When I told her to make it herself, she threw a fit and said she was just going to make some for herself and wasn't going to make some for her sister. I told her that she was being very selfish and that if she made some for herself then she should make some for her sister. Needless to say a big shouting match innsued and she said she was calling her mom. The shouting match put me over the edge and I reminded her that I supplied the roof over her head, paid for her school, bought her clothing and everything else and that I resented her taking our family business over to her mom's and her mom's boyfriends house. She told me to bad so I then told her to take her shit and stay with her mom and to let her mom pay for everything. She just smiled, called her mom and left when her mom arrived. Of coarse she came back home an hour later (About the maximum lengh of time her mom will put up with having the kids around). I haven't spoken to her yet, but I hope I have the patience to try and work through this. If not, I will give her thirty days to find a new place to stay, or a job so she can pay me rent and for her school and such. I hate for things to come to that point, but I earned my way and my Father is a reasonably wealthy guy. Oh well, it will be interesting to see how things work out. God give me patience! Joshuattee

Your reasoning is sound..if you are paying for everything, she has some kind of obligation to contribute to the family unit...you didn\'t say how old she is ,or if she\'s in college, but when my girl was in school, she still managed a part time job and did her own laundry and some chores around the house also..I think you\'ve made the correct decision..how else do they learn how to manage their lives, without respocibilities?
