My kittens are almost 1 1/2 now. Ya, Where did the time go, Huh!?!? 2 sundays ago I had brought one of them, Shawdow to the SPCA to have her spayed...The Vets wanted $250.00, and someone told me the SPCA does them too, for $75.00, and xtra $10.00 for the rabie shots...Two days later shadow, started sneezing really bad and her nose would drip every so often..I called the SPCA about it and they said it is the chance we take bringing in our cat...I thought maybe they would have some antibiotics there for contagious sickness from one animal to another..Then I called the vets, her sneezing was getting worst.. The veterninarian said shadows gums had a bright bright red line all around her upper gums..Shadow was tested for lukemia, it came out negitive. She said her gum disease Gingivitis, is really to young for gum disease...and is just in her genes..They gave me antibiotics, enough to give to my other cat Spooky also... The vets wants to give her surgery, which costs $397.00, for dental work and I could pay it in payments, ya right! I'm not doing that, I'll brush their teeth if I have to...If they get infected again I'll get more antibiotics..The bright red gums are now gone, so that is cleared up.. But her nose seems more stuffy now...Today will be day 5, so I'll wait a few more days, before I'll call the vets again...Geeeez my Airplane flight is gonna cost that much...you know how we are with our animals, they almost are like kids.. Now that Erica has been gone to NJ to live with her BF, it has been the best thing for her, moving away from her Playgrounds and playmates....
Erica & I made plans for me to fly out to see her in NJ for the weekend in April.. Ryans 5 year angel date in 2 weeks...April 15th... I like the Idea of me going to see her instead of her coming home.. She has grown up so much since shes been around her old friends..Her bf is in the airforce in NJ...He has his pilot licence for one engine planes, now going for the biggy, airline pilot...Chris has taken her flying already, she video'd it, so I could see it.. I was a reck knowing she was going up in the plane with him, she called me when she was down on the ground, first thing.. I felt at ease with it all.....

I'm still trying to fined cheaper Air flights to the retreat.... I don't know if I dare to wait with the prices going up on fuel... I also need to find a couple roomates for the retreat, funds aren't coming in like it use to when Ryan was home with me and his sister... I really miss my younger years when they were little.. It hurts to much thinking about it, still after 5 years I can't go there in my head.. I get really down and depressed... I hate myself when i'm on my pitypot........I look around and see someone worst then me, and I feel really bad for those people, who have lost more then 1 child...Well enough from me... XO, Kelly

Kelly, we have a C-Snip place that fixes our cats for about 40.00. We fixed about 11 of our barn cats. Surely there is a non profit thing there someplace besides the SPCA.

I have a goat named Spooky:) She\'s about to have kids. I hope she has twins.

The only Shadow kitty I ever knew beat the crap out of my little sister. It\'s a cat from hell. He actually beat her while she lay on the couch! He was declawed and he slapped her so hard with his paws he left bruises. And bit her to pieces! She still has him. I am very careful when I go over to visit..he looks at you with evil eyes and hair stands up on his back. If I had a cat like that, he would already be hanging as a trophy. Or, I could give him to my worst enemy. :)

Listerine is good for gengivitis. Just give them a swig of that ever now and again.

LOL, Danette:)

Hi kelly, My cat Frankie, a rescue and my cat Gracie, a formerly feral both have gingivitis. (My only cat that wasn\'t a rescue, Mittens, is fine). I had paid twice for Frankie to have the dental scaling and it was so expensive. I will not do it again coz the problem just comes back. I brush their teeth & hope for the best.
I am so looking forward to meeting you at the retreat. I will be thinking of you too as Ryan\'s Angel date approaches. Love & hugs, Linda

I know all about those vet bills. I have four dogs and two cats. I have one dog on meds for seizures. They always chuckle when I go to the pharmacy and pick up medicine for Luke the canine. But we love them so we do what needs to be done. I\'m so happy things are in a good place for your lovely daughter. We miss them but want them happy. I am about to embark on those challenges of wishing my son happiness while my heart will be trying to heal from missing him. I just got my tickets last week because I too was worried they would go up in price. You can look at neighboring airports like Charlotte and see if its cheaper enough to rent a car and drive to Asheville. Enjoy your trip with your daughter. Love and hugs as the angel date approaches. It\'s always hard but we keep getting through them. Love Robin

Maybe your cat has allergies. One of our cats nose runs & another of our cats sneeze more this time of year. Our daughter has a cats who sneezes in the spring also. Just a thought. Enjoy your trip...Hugs, Ann

Kelly, I went through the same thing a few years ago with one of my cats...turns out she did indeed have allergies..As for airfares, you might want to check everyday or twice in one day. My brother use to do it all the time. Its worth a try....Hugs, Pat

Kelly, I hope your kitties are feeling better by now! My cats both developed kitty colds after they were \"sprung\" from their confinement. (One was from a shelter and the other direct from pound prison). My vets said it was no big deal and they\'d get over it in about a week or so. And they did. If there was crusty stuff around the eyes I was to bring them in (didn\'t happen). He gave me powdered lysine to give to the other cat who was healthy when I brought home my sick pound cat. He did NOT get her cold. The vet sold it. Don\'t think it was that costly...maybe $20.00? It\'s made for cats and has some fishy flavor to it.
One cat needed her teeth cleaned, age two, but I think the vet was stretching that a bit. My cats won\'t let me anywhere near their teeth. The vet tech said she has her cats on Royal Canin Dental Diet (large kibble size) mixes it in with her regular cat chow (pricey) and it cleans their teeth well. Also uses it after WET food...like 4-5 pieces each. I also do this per her suggestion and seems to be working well.
As far as feeling other moms have it worse and that making you feel kind of bad...you know, it doesn\'t really make a hoot of difference if they lost TEN kids to your one child. YOU lost YOUR CHILD (only physically of course, and temporary). And that is why your grief is your own and your suffering, only you know how you suffer exactly...all your own triggers...just your very uniqueness. Never let anyone ever make you feel like you don\'t measure up in the grieving or recovery scene somehow. When you are ready you will be ready. Nobody has the right to tell you otherwise. How do they know what you\'ve gone through in life, in emotions, in stress, etc etc. Nobody has the right to judge another. ESPECIALLY when it comes to something as personal and unique as a mother grieving over the death (again--physical only and temporary) of her very own child. If a \"pity party\" was ever appropriate or expected even...this would be it!
And then when you do start to feel better and happier again DON\'T BE GUILTY (like I was!) Laugh and just enjoy life again as that is exactly what our loved ones have been doing I believe from day one up there....and want us to be happy also. Let yourself be ok with healing once it does start. Go for it! Don\'t hold back for fear of possibly leaving your child behind as there is no such thing possible! They are with us for the duration! They\'re in it for the long haul...which would be us in this earthly life until we join them for the party in Heaven! I know it\'s hard. But please don\'t ever give up hope!
Loving you and Ryan, Donna

Kelly, I hope your kitty gets better! I would like a pet sometimes, but I move so much and am not willing to make the commitment. I get my pet \"fix\" at work anyway. I give all my love to my grooming dogs! I hope to see you at retreat. Glad Erika is doing better. Hope I can say the same for Jason soon. Love you.
