I was just diagnosed with Narcolepsy at age 41, after knowing many years something was wrong. I had a sleep study done in 2001 and only got an Idiopathic Hypersomnolence out of it. Now symptoms worsened and I pursued another study and have my positive diagnosis. I'm happy about it but also mad. I wonder if anyone else feels that way too?
Wonder what my potential would have been had it not affected me through high school and on. (Or is that a "pity party" me way to think?) It's especially hard for me to tell since I have been on and off antidepressants a couple times. Maybe it was just the narcolepsy taking a toll on me.
Would like to hear from anyone who relates.

I am counting the days until my first follow-up appointment. I just want to ask many questions.
I just hope I can find inner peace after I get some meds to help me function fairly normal again-for whatever normal is anyway.
I feel sad today.
I think I just realized that this IS going to affect my life.
I don\'t know yet how much.
