I\'m repeating my post from the Alcoholism Discussion group so I can easily reread it later. The discussion was started by our friend 1is2many.

http://www.the-alcoholism-guide.org/personality-of-an-alcoholic.html

\" One is too many, two is not enough. I have taken 1is2many\'s handle as my motto. For me, he speaks the truth. Whether booze is the problem or the solution in debatable. I think its over use can be either or both, but I have no doubt it was the solution for me. I didn\'t quit drinking until drinking affected my heath more than my personality traits did. Now I am, with help, working on the negative personality traits that at the very least contributed greatly to my drinking.

I now recognize most of these traits in me. I also know I had most of these traits before I started drinking. Knowing there is little in my life to warrant me to feel the way I do doesn\'t help me to keep from feeling this way.

I feel a need to explain. Most people would say I have had a very successful life. If I would make a list of the good things I have accomplished it would be very long. The negative things would be very short.

If it was your list I would tell you what a wonderful life you had, but when I look at my list I see the negative side and how I should have done better on the positive. I know this is crazy!

\"I find that by admitting I am one (an alcoholic) I can work on the traits that made me need to drink. Booze was not the problem , it was the solution.\"

Thanks for the post 1is2many. \"
