Dear journal,

This last week was stressful and overwhelming...and long, but also it was very good too. I had a breakthrough in my relationship with my Dad, as well as a spiritual breakthrough, which helped to free me from the shame of things I've done in my past that I once regretted, but now know is under the blood of Jesus....I would highly recommonded to any woman, The Heart of a Woman by Jim Anderson, as well as Captivating by John and Stasi Elderedge becuase it doesn't talk about rules to live by to be a better Chrisitan woman..but rather goes deep down and addresses perhaps very hidden needs that we won't recognize, but that affect us everyday..everytime I read them, I learn and grow in my faith, and in my identity as a Christian woman.

The breakthrough with my dad was when I was riding in his car on the way back from church, and we talked about studying the bible...and he said that I should study healing, as I have been trying hard to belive the Lord for complete healing from BP for my mom and I. We just really bonded when we talked about ways to cope with depression..the power of music to affect your emotions and either uplift or bring you down...and askig the Lord for what you need-persevering in prayer. It was amazing to get his godly advice, and to just feel cared for by dad, like he was really investing in my life. :-) it was very special, and I think things ar elooking up for our relationship, as we seem to talk a little more lately, and fight less, or whem we do it's about silly stuff-not the huge issues we seemed to have earlier.

My friend Sabrina asked me to sing in her wedding!!! I'm so excited and honored to do that, as I never have sang a solo at a wedding before...and she is one of my spiritual mentors and like my big sis in the Lold.

I'm looking foward, by God's grace to having a job this week, and making the choice to be encouraged and positive no matter what happens...because I want to be helpful to others, and I realize that I can't do that while focusing on myself. I need to keep my eyes on Jesus to keep things in perspective, and see how incredibly blessed I really am.

I know that I will slip up still-but I'm glad that all my ds friends, as well as my friends offline and my family will still be there for me, to tell me the truths I need to hear Also you all comfort me and let me express my emotions, even if its venting I shouldn't be doing, and don't judge me for it. Thank you for that!!

lots of -HUGS- have a fantatic week everyone!
:-) Jasmine

I am glad you had that talk with your dad. There are many things that were left unsaid between my father and I when he passed. Enjoy him and talk with him often sweetie.
