Today is Monday, my day off. I don't know where to begin, I'm kinda lost. So much to do today & I don't know how I'll get it all done, & here I sit.
I've been on Cymbalta about a month now. It has helped me cope, but along with being able to control my depression, it also deadens feelings of joy. So I have little or no emotion. I'm told this will even out. I find myself sitting & staring a lot. It'w weird. Still think of Joe all the time & want to talk about him to everyone, but I know people don't know how to react, or don't really want to hear.
I see all the people on this website, & my family, & the suffering & grief at my group meetings, & I just wonder, how all those people in Iraq who have lost someone, how it must be for them, or the people in Sudan, you know? I mean, they lose several family members. I think, who am I, how can I feel so sorry for myself, when I see what's going on out there.
At the same time, yeah, it is personal. I desperately miss my son. I think about the years he had ahead of him, about how many friends he had who were devastated, about how he made me so proud to be his mom, what a wonderful human being he was. Some of the funny things he did as a kid. How smart he was. How there's such a big void in my life.
I want to write next time about his music...gotta go
