Just a general news thingy today... I'm exchanging messages with this young lady who is trying to motivate people to make a commitment not to shop for anything that isn't an absolute have to for 5 days; June 1st thru June 5th as a protest against the high prices that a lot of us have been complaining about...    Yes siree Bob or Barbara... I have been complaining too....  I don't think many of us haven't been complaining...  Anyhoo... I'm for it...  Will it help...  I don't know... but I think we need to try...  I am hoping we can make some other moves to perhaps shake things up a bit...   So I am hoping we can get started talking... and doing...  I wanted us all to share some dollar stretching ideas...  Here's mine for today...    Save 15% at the supermarket         1. Use grocery ads when planning to shop         2. Complete a menu plan         3. Write a grocery list            4. Use unit pricing to select the best buys   If you usually spend $65 each week on food you could save $9.75.  Hmmm doesn't sound like much... but multiply 9.75 x 4... $39.00 so in 8 weeks I can save $78.... 52 weeks... $507.00...   I got this idea at  http://extension.unh.edu/Food/Nutr/FNStretc.htm    *Smile*
