In case you wonder... Have I lost my mind... No... but I'm trying very hard to keep sad thoughts at bay... I have them... but does it help to dwell on them... There may be days I won't be able to hold them back... but if I truly believe Cara is here... I have to try to find joy too... and I do believe Cara is here... which reminds me... Cara you didn't call last night... Yall it is funny in a way that Cara has chosen the phone as her medium... She still calls me most nights but she skips one here and there... which for me only tends to reinforce the belief that it is her... if it were a computer glitch it would happen every night I think... but back to why its funny she'd choose the phone... Cara was in her teens... I couldn't believe the amount of time she spent on the phone... We had never gone for extras but we had to get call waiting as we couldn't call home to check on the kids as the phone was always busy.... One day I told Cara that it was time to go... She said, "go where?" I said come on I'm bringing you to the hospital... she said, "what for?" I told her, "you're going to have a telephonelectomy... I'm sure they're going to have to surgically remove that phone from your ear... you're on the phone so much your ear has grown attached... Ta Da... and that became a family joke... Cara had to have her phone... They were as much a part of her life as air and water are to us... *Smile* On to smile... another joke from a friend.. Thank you Karen This morning on the Interstate,I looked over to my left and there was aWomanIn a brand new CadillacDoing 65 mphWith her face up next to herRear view mirrorPutting on her eyeliner.I looked awayFor a couple seconds !And when I looked back she wasHalfway over in my lane,Still working on that makeup. As a man, I don't scare easily. But she scared me so much; I dropped My electric shaver,Which knockedThe donutOut of my other hand.In all theconfusion of trying To straighten out the carUsing my knees againstThe steering wheel,it knockedmy cell phoneaway from my earwhich fellinto the coffeebetween my legs, splashed, and burnedBig Jim and theTwins, ruined the damn phone, soaked my trousers, and disconnected an importantcall.Damnwomen drivers!! A bit of trivia... yall do know why insurance rates are cheaper for women than for men huh... that's right... we're better drivers..... Ha!!!
