This summer I bought myself a beautiful music box... I would so have loved to buy it for my mama... and I know Cara would have wanted to buy it for me... So I got it for all of us... On the lid it has a little poem... MOM All the things you have done The nights you stayed awake To make it better when it was wrong You did it for my sake God gave me the dearest Mother and whether I'm near or far I'll cherish you Mom Because love is where you are The last line is my favorite... and it exemplifies what I believe about my mother... and I believe that my daughter felt that about me... and I'm trying to keep her memory... the loving she felt for her children alive for them... because to me that's one of the greatest gifts we can hand down... I really treasure my sentimental nonsesnse... I think we're supposed to make mountains out of molehills when it comes to saying I love you... because as I have endured these last few years and people I knew and loved passing on as we all get older I truly realize that love is the most important of all... I think centuries and generations of women who have gone before me have realized this and much of the traditions that celebrate life and love come from this understanding... What we share in our families through the centuries is so important and I'm so glad I can see it...

Elissa,
Could not agree with you any more. Love is everything.I think it is important to internalize Love and not just use it randomly.I think Love just like being a Christian is a way of life. How can we have Love in our hearts when we do mean spirited things in our lives, how can we have love in our hearts when we are not willing to help those in need, how can we have love in our hearts when we are selfish???
I also treasure your \" sentimental nonsense\". Elissa, you are a child of love and you are a treasure. You give so much to so many of us and I am so glad that you are a friend. Hugs, Inga
To have Faith in something you cannot feel or touch, to have Hope that what we believe is taking us closer to journey\'s end, and to Love for always and ever all that come into our lives.....this is why we are and gives us reason to be.
Funny I use the word love a lot.....I just noticed that. In my mind I think that\'s all that really matters because whether you are a secretary, bus driver, garbage collector, mail carrier...whatever you do you come into contact with people and those people can sense caring. So if you care about yourself and you care about what you do and your smile comes easy it brightens everyones day including yours....something like that pay it forward commercial on TV. How lucky you were to have your mom and how lucky Cara and John were to have you and how lucky their children were to have them. What now? Well you never know who you are will affect all those you come into contact with...it might be just as deeply as you affected your own family. Love Ya, Kathy
Love is it-it is just totally the answer-I see my students in need-I see our young people so lost and all I keep hearing from God is \"just love them\"-and I see how so many just never know that love-youj are so right Elissa-your and Cara\'s love goes on forever-our love joins us to our children and to all our loved ones who have left us-and that line of love is going to lead us right back to them, Love, Sandy
Sentimental nonsense...I treasure it as well...and I treasure you.
You are so right and I try to make as many mountains of love and sentimental nonsense as I can. Love IS all that matters. Love is all that lasts. Love is eternal. And yes, love is where our kids are.
I love you my friend,
Teri
yes, love is what binds all of us to our children for eternity. huge hugs, marianne
The sentimental nonsense is the most sensible thing in our lives! It is what makes us human, rather than animal...love and the ability to feel it and give it away. Those who don\'t do either, do not live....they exist. The love I feel for my family and friends is what makes it worth getting up each day. love, Mona
