Mama and I have been doing Thanksgiving for the last 30 years less 3 years I was in Virginia... and we couldn't on Thanksgiving Day for the last 5 years we would do it the weekend before or after... I was always working... Boy if yall knew what I want to tell Keith... I so hope that sometimes he regrets it...  Why should I... I have the day off... I have all the days off... and we're surviving....  but I do regret not being at work at a job where I thought I was needed and respected... guess a lot of people do.... Richard and I talked today and he's really wanting the traditional Thanksgiving... my eyes tear up just thinking about it... My brother is supposed to come from Houma and Michael and Mandy whom I really don't want to see... I don't tell anyone but yall that... I am ugly I guess... but somewhere to someone I have to tell the truth... but I'm going to try to do the right thing... Richard has tried so hard... I don't know how he stands me... I cry all the time... Its just how it is...I would like to say one thing.... Its bullshit to leave mama to do all the cooking and cleaning... My mama and I have done the cooking together for years and when my kids got old enough they helped with the cleanup... but I know Michael and Mandy and my brother Johnny and Richard... I'm going to have a gay old time all by myself and I doubt if I'm going to do it many times before I tell everyone where to go...  and I'm looking forward to losing it...  Do you ever feel like that... That you're tired of your family laying off on you... I think that's part of why I'm dreading this so bad too... Not only do I not particularly want to spend that much time with any of these people... I don't want to deal with this mess... but I'm going to... Yall hope for me that I get the nerve to tell them all what I think...   No need to change my icon... I feel fine... just venting... and here's the safest place to do it....

I don\'t think you are \"ugly\" for feeling the way that you do...and I don\'t blame you for looking forward to telling them what for. I think that sadly, it does take us losing it for our family to see that \"HEY damn it! I am NOT alright with ANY of this and I am TIRED of being taken for granted! I am TIRED of ya all NOT seeing that I am HUMAN here and that I still HURT!\" saying something like that and totally losing it is what it takes to get through all the thick skulled people we know! So, if you need to do it....then let them have it....I will even send you a bunch of pumpkin pies to throw at each one of them! And I love a pumpkin pie, but I will make that sacrifice for you cuz I love you! :o) I am with you all the way girlie! HUGS, Kat

HEY! don\'t call my friend ugly, \'cause you\'re not! family gathering\'s can be the pits. In the year\'s past with my girlfriends family, us \"ladies\" decided that it wasn\'t fair for us to do all the cooking and cleaning. So we all pitched in. We\'re doing Thanksgiving as our own family this year. Cedric will do the cooking and the girls and i will do the cleaning. My son (7) will clear the table. I want him to learn that just because he\'s a boy does not mean that he doesn\'t have to clean. (personally, i think the male species are all born with this one molecule that say\'s \"I don\'t clean\")HA! Also, your husband loves you. and he know\'s you\'re hurting. so it\'s a good thing he hangs around because even if he doesn\'t show it, he needs you just as much. love you lots!

Elissa,
You crack me up.Have you ever asked other people to bring items for the dinner and to help clean up?
I would only get mad if I had asked and they said no.Elissa, you are going through enough don\'t use your energy by getting mad.Start by asking folks to bring stuff and after dinner ask for help, I bet someone will help. Let me know how it turns out.Hugs, Inga
