He Only Took My Hand   Last night while I was trying to sleep, my daughter's voice I did hear, I opened my eyes and looked around, but she did not appear.   She said, "Mom, you've got to listen, you've got to understand, God didn't take me from you, mom, He only took my hand.   When I called out in pain that day, the moment that I died, He reached down and took my hand, and pulled me to His side.   He pulled me up and saved me From the misery and pain. My body was hurt so badly, I could never be the same.   My search is really over now, I've found happiness within, All the answers to my empty dreams and all that might have been.   I love you all and miss you so, And I'll always be nearby. My body's gone forever, But my spirit will never die.   And so, you must all go on now, And live, and understand... God did not take me from you, He only took my hand."   Author Unknown     Hi,   So Sunday is coming... and with it Cara's birthday... We are going to Houma. We'll go to the church Cara was buried from... go to eat lunch... and go to the graveyard.... I've got a card for her that says how much I love and appreciate her.... The kids will have cards of their own for their mama... Part of me so does not want to do this... I don't want to bring flowers to my daughter who should be here to celebrate with us... I don't want to think of all the things I didn't say or do that I wish I'd done or said... I want to pretend that its not September 9th.... Anyway I'm going to try to read and reread this poem till maybe I can be grateful for Cara..... I was thinking earlier... Isn't it weird... we say that we want what's best for our children... We claim faith in God... in heaven.... what could be better than that she should be with God every day... in heaven.... Well maybe its good for her...... but oh I wish so much she could have waited....   I just can't lie and say I'm not sad that she went on ahead...  You feel like screaming... Wait... wait for me... and I guess they are... somehow I just know I wouldn't have wanted my daughter to destroy herself if I had gone first... heck one of the few things I have thought to be thankful for is I know how bad Cara would have hurt when it was my time to go... we really did love each other so... we were each other's number 1 fans... So no matter how much I hate this I hope Cara knows I still love her... I'm still so grateful for her... To Hell with where ever either one of us fell short baby girl... think about how completely loved we made each other feel...  <>

You are so right. It is easy to say we want them back and I guess that is the mother in us, but to think of how are babies would have suffered if we had gone first is also just as unbearable. Like we always say we would have done anything to take their pain away. You are doing great and I am here with you. LOVE YA

It\'s funny but Ed has said often how he doesn\'t know if Chris could have coped if we had passed-he was so dependent on us-so I know what you mean-I also know that knowing this doesn\'t make it any easier for me-I just miss Chris every second of every day and wish I could just see his wonderful smile. I hope you will be okay on her birthday-it was a quiet day for us-I am glad you will get to be with family. Love, Sandy

I MUST TELL YOU THAT I KNOW MAMA WOULD HAVE PROBABLY DESTROYED HERSELF HAD I GONE FIRST AND WOULD NOT HAVE COPED WELL WITH MY HAVING SCLEROSING COLANGITIS. NOT LONG BEFORE SHE WAS DIAGNOSED THEY HAD FOUND A TUMOR IN MY UTERUS, WHILE WAITING ON THE BIOPSY SHE TOLD TOLD ME \"NO WAY!, I\'LL PRAY TO GOD TO TAKE ME BEFORE I EVER HAVE TO SEE ONE OF MY CHILDREN DIE!\" SHE SAID IT WITH ANGER AND MEANT IT, AS IF SHE WERE ANGRY WITH GOD FOR MY HEALTH ALWAYS BEING THREATENED. TOO SOON AFTER SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH LIVER CANCER AND HER PRAYER WAS ANSWERED, SHE\'LL NEVER HAVE TO WATCH US DIE, IN LIFE ANYWAY.
I WOULD NOT WISH LOSING A MAMA OR A CHILD ON MY WORST ENEMY, AND I HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU I DON\'T THINK CARA COULD HAVE SURVIVED LOSING YOU ELISSA, SHE MAY HAVE ENDED UP LIKE MY BROTHERS, LEFT BEHIND WITH SO MANY REGRETS AND GUILT AND THE INABILITY TO COPE WITH LOSING YOU TO THE DEGREE OF SELF DESTRUCTION. LIKE MY BROTHERS... SHE WOULDN\'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEEK THE HELP SHE SO BADLY WOULD HAVE NEEDED WITHOUT YOUR IMPUT TO GUIDE HER, SHE WOULD HAVE BECOME LOST IN HER GRIEF BECAUSE LOSING YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR TOO PAINFUL FOR HER TO RECOVER.
I AWAIT THE PHONE CALL TO INFORM ME THAT 1 OR BOTH OF MY BROTHERS ARE GONE TOO, MAMA WAS THEIR RESCUER BUT NOW SHE\'S GONE AND THEY ARE STAGNANT AND LOST IN THEIR GRIEF.... IT\'S SO SAD SO VERY SAD... I LOVE YOU ELISSA AND I\'M PRAYING OUR PRAYER EVERY DAY... LOVE KIMMIE
