I've had problems with the need for approval and validation as long as I can remember..  Ms Francis told me that serious grief can bring up all the old stuff and its true.  Losing my job on top of everything else just about did me in... I've been afraid to move for fear something else would break...  I'm telling you all these things so if you're having some of the same problems maybe you won't feel so alone.  It was very helpful for me recently to read a friends message where she talked about how this happened to her.  She's got a new job now and she's getting back on the horse so to speak.... and I'm working on getting there too.  Just a month ago I still didn't want to try.  I didn't want to be "of use" to the world, because I didn't want to care... I have moments now of feeling like maybe I can pick myself up again... but they are fragile... I have to be grateful for the moments of respite... . its still hard not to want to keep myself out of the stress zones of throwing myself against the fences... job hunting... taking care of my health... just accepting that its ok to want to live... when so often I think I can't stand living... but those are the thoughts I have to fight and I'm lucky that I recognize that I... me myself I... have to do it... No one else can do it for me... I know these lessons... I've applied them for years... but here of late... I've really wanted to quit... just not to face it... so I'm weak, shaky and scared... but I'm working on it... Thanks for your help and support... Hugs Elissa

Elissa, we are right here with you. You are so right..each of us has to do it...no one can do it for us. When my mom was so very sick, I had to say those exact words to her and told her I would be her loudest cheerleader. She fought a brave fight but lost the battle. Now my mom and my daughter are together...and I hope they are cheering me on now! I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers! We have a tough journey ahead..but we can do it! hugs! Love, lana

At times we are all weak, shaky and scared. That is why we are all here. To validate our feelings, to learn from them and sometimes to have friends gently kick us when we need to be. Elissa, thank you for taking me on your journey. I am here if you need me. Lots of hugs, Jake\'s mom, kathy

It takes a long time-I am constantly swaying back and forth, back and forth-caring then not caring about yourself, wanting to run away then wanting to be with others-it just seems like we make day by day decisions that others never have to make. But we\'re making them Elissa, and so are you and that is good. Love, Sandy

You know Elissa that in riding a horse fear can be your best teacher. Recognizing that fear is the first jump but if you stay the course and break threw the wall of fear the possibilities are unending. I too felt afraid. Afraid of living again. And althugh I felt undeserving of living my life I just kept getting back on the horse and rode even when I wanted to get off. Then one day I felt the sun on my face and the wind in my hair and I was riding really riding once again and you will to. We are all here for you. When yur journey seems to difficult ride it out and enjoy the company you meet along the way. God Bless you.
In faith, hope and love. Pam
