Ok.... another Cara story... come on yall... don't make me drag my poor old Rhett Butler persona out of the closet....  I had written the following in response to a friend and I talking about how kids can be so wise... I can't remember what Cara had done... I was giving her hell... and to be honest I'd lost it... and I was saying ugly things... I'm ashamed to admit that... but its the truth... anyway all of a sudden Cara said... "Mama, why do you say that... you know you love me..." It was true... She shut me up as if she'd shoved a sock in my mouth... and I was so grateful and so proud... grateful because she shut me up, in to me the perfect way... and proud... because she was so smart... and today... I'm still grateful and proud... I'm grateful that she honestly knew how much I loved her... she knew it enough and had confidence in it enough to be able to see it and recognize and stop me dead in my tracks... and so you see I have reason to be proud... because she wasn't but about 15... and she was smarter than some people ever get in a lifetime... Telling you this story I can see us there in the front room... and I can see her and hear her... more I can feel the love that just filled the room when she said that... Hey the argument was over... She TKO'd me...

wow, what can we say when they say something like that? when they show such wisdom. i said some ugly things to my daughter too not long before she passed away. i can still remember the look on her face. i wish she had of said something to shut me up because i deserved it. but she didn\'t & i live with that regret. she was trying so hard to get back into my good graces after years of turmoil. i wasn\'t ready to forgive her yet. she wanted to take a family picture but i stalled i guess to punish her a little bit. she way presenting so much love before me & i wasn\'t ready to receive it. i had intended to but wasn\'t ready quite yet to entirely forgive her. then she died & i never got the chance. i was such a fool. but god does not want us to live under condemnation as this is not of his spirit. jackie & i did have some tender moments & great times the last few months. that\'s what i try to remember the most.

Oh that\'s a really sweet story! I know she knew you loved her. And she still does. Our kids can see right through us! And like my son, she probably knew just how to form you like play doh, into the mood she wanted u to be in!!! She had no doubt of your love.

Thankyou for my memory also. It is amazing because I can picture Wayman saying the same exact thing to me. Cussing the boy and he\'d smile and say but ma you know you love me. You made me just rejoice in knowing that he knew it. Thanks. Lora

Yup our kids had our numbers! Erick could give me that gorgeous smile and do his silly flappy wave at me and say \"hellooooo momma\" in a way that could melt me, even when I was so mad I could have melted the glaciers in Alaska. Memories to cherish forever. Thanks for sharing Cara with us and giving us each to opportunity to dig for our memories. Love to you, Vera ~ Erick\'s mom
