It feels like a gift every time my kids really talk to me... Its been that way as long as I can remember... someone to trust... someone who trusts me... Hearing you talk about you and Reece I'm reminded how lucky we have been... We are more than just parent and child... we are friends...I'm grateful for how well you put it that we all need to respect each other's faith beliefs... That's all I ask of the world... and I'm happy to give it back... I hate the idea that we kill one another over faith... What kind of faith is that... if we obey the concept do unto others as you would have them do unto you... would I have anyone kill me because I didn't agree with something in their faith... or kill them because they didn't agree with mine... no... I am lucky... my God is a loving God... I'm counting on it...How does God choose... I've had some real problems with that... and why... if he knows the path from the get go... doesn't he change it... I think its random... doesn't really have any thing to do with he takes only the best... I really like the poem that came from... but I don't like that line... and Cara doesn't blame him... nor anyone... she says she made some bad choices... and she said it... not me... I wasn't at a point where I was even able to handle her blaming herself... I hated anyone and everyone and blamed myself and them... never Cara... but she told me quietly and simply... I made some bad choices... I guess its true... I still wish we had better help available for children who are headed in the wrong direction... Reading Charlayne's got me thinking and I started by writing the first paragraph in her journal comments... but when I realized how lengthy I was getting I copied what I'd written and put it here... Everything I read starts me thinking.... and I want to write it out for yall so you can give me some feedback and I keep looking for approval... or even rational disapproval... just to think... to question... to discuss... to be real... Love Yall Elissa

Elissa, these days the only thing I deal in is real. Everything else is not worth my time. I believe God has paths in mind for all of us. But I think those paths can be radically altered by the fact that He also gave us free-will. Having free-will changes the game for Him as well as us. Jake was not supposed to leave me but because of someone else he did. Not God. This is just my opinion. Lots of love, Jake\'s mom, Kathy
HMMMM. Did you ever try to fit two feet in one shoe?
AS there are as many people, I think, there are as many shoes.
Choices are funny things. They have nothing at all to do with our parents, our friends, our circumstances. They have everything to do with a moment in time that each individual choses to do or not to do for whatever reason is aparent only to them at that time. How many times have you made a split decision and you think damn I wish I didn\'t do that....you know like buying that blouse and wishing you saved the money for a steak dinner or putting that extra ten dollars in a slot machine and wishing you had it back for gas or an ice cream cone.
Everyone makes rotten choices at one time or another. Has not one thing to do with anyone else but us as individuals. Strange thing about all that is that somebody else is making choices too and when their choices cross paths with our choices the result can be great or it can be tragic. HMMMM. Love Ya Kathy
hmmmm....my views and beliefs are different I reckon...I don\'t believe that there is a plan that includes sickness, accidents, homicides or that God chooses our children or that He takes our children...I believe that He recieves our children when circumstances (accidents, sickness, homicides, etc...) take them from us. Adam was supposed to live to old age but because of someone else\'s actions (and the \"system\" having failed over and over) his life was taken. Yet we each have to come to our own conclusions and find peace with what makes sense to us. Love you!
