Its so good to hear you make a joke... Richard has seizures... not often... one every couple of weeks or so... They are not the kind that makes him go into spasms and fall to the floor... They just make him walk spastically and his speech slur a bit... so when I go get him and help him in the house I tease him... I tell him the neighbors feel so sorry for me having to take care of my drunk husband... I tell him that I have begged him to go to AA but he won't do it... (he hardly drinks at all... a beer with a meal or a glass of wine now and then... ) He grins... he loves my little jokes... When he broke his ankle a few years back he was in a wheel chair for about 6 months. We all teased him about how much we enjoyed pushing him around and talking behind his back...
We went to church last night. I got baptized... ohhhhhhhh the water was cold... Its hard to think I'm 51 and just now getting baptized... It was wonderful! I had my first communion wine... and it was wine... rather good.... I may become an alcoholic *Smile* I had heard that it wasn't wine at all... but grape juice... The service was really good. I think the part that touched me the most was Father Fred speaking of things I thought I was the only one who thought about... He talked about how God doesn't expect us to have all the faith we need at once... Since I pray every time I kneel for stronger faith... the kind of faith you see in some people's faces and lives... the serenity, the sureness... its something to be desired... I was just glad to know that its ok... you just keep praying and it gets stronger... I was actually doing pretty good until Cara died and since then I've been struggling hard to hang on... its only in the last couple of months that I have started praying again for greater faith and assuredness... before I was just hanging on. Its very common I know to feel somewhat separated from God when a loved one or several pass... but still I've felt guilty... God has been very kind to me... I prattle on and on... Take care and have a blessed day. My saint name I chose is St Elizabeth... for several reasons... My granddaughter and daughter in law are named Elizabeth... St Elizabeth was the mother of John the Baptist I have a son named John... and the thing that is the most special to me... St Elizabeth is the patron saint of mothers... I've long been known for my tendency to "mother" smother people... *Smile* Ok I really am going to close... Hugs Elissa
