I was just thinking about a message I sent a friend here at daily strength... she had mentioned in her journal how long it had been since she'd held her son, smelled his clothes, seen his smile... and I told her that I too still touch Cara's things and smell her clothes trying to bring her presence closer... trying to force her to come to me when I want... which is all the time... but it doesn't happen... she comes as she wills... and then I had to smile... I remember when Cara was not even 2 years old... she was always so strong willed... she absolutely demanded to pick her own clothes and to put them on mostly by herself... she was quite good about matching things up and so I pretty much let her as long as I got final say... You know how long that lasted... *Smile* She was always strong willed in some ways and not in others... but I guess that's why she's been able to come to me at all... she wills it... and I'm so grateful... I love you for always Cara on earth or in heaven...

I can\'t bring myself to wash the towel I brought Molly home from critical care in (or return it to Dr. Maas for that matter)........ it smells like her, and also like the honey he soaked the bandages he wrapped her feet in. I have slowly but surely cleaned and laundered everything else of hers.......... but I think I\'m going to have to keep that white towel for awhile. Because although I haven\'t even been able to look at it or touch it until very recently..... I like knowing it\'s here.

If love could have saved you......... you would have lived forever.
