#75 The Prison and the Prayer

How can I begin to explain
The depth of the pain
That has brought me to this place
This place where food is both an enemy and a friend
I have built myself a prison of all my sin
Jesus, come get me out!
Hear my screaming cries and shouts!
Hear me bang on the walls that close in around me
Father!
Rescue me!
Set me free!
Jesus, please don't let me get me
Please help me believe
That I am Your princess once again
Help me live
Not just exist
In the Hell that is my sickness
I love You more than I can say
Help me make tomorrow a better day
Father,if I must serve a sentence
In this prison I have made
Let my suffering not be in vain
Use me to ease the pain of the others who are trapped
Between starvation and glutony
Help me lead them to Your truth
So You can set them free
From this prison the world calls an eating disorder
So how can I begin to explain
The depth of the pain
That has lead me to this place?
LeAnn Rimes said it best
"Pain is self-inflicted
I know it's not good for my health
But it's easier to please the world
Than it is to please myself"
Father, lead me to the path
That will unlock these prison doors
Lead me to health
And save me from myself
