Harrison's first IEP meeting is set for this Thursday.  I had a longtalk with his Early Intervention specialist, and she helped me comeup with the notes I am taking to this meeting, and it is a failrlong list.  I am really nervous about this because I just want to dowhat's best for Harrison.  I pray for God's guidance through thismeeting.Harrison's development is coming along fine.  He does have anaggression issue right now.  He will head-butt and not take "no" foran answer to anything.  It's something I have to work on, but on tothe good stuff.  Just a few days after my last update, Harrison didanother pretty amazing thing.  He was at daycare, and all thechildren were playing outside.  Harrison was playing by the swingsetwhen he went and asked another little boy to "swing me," meaning topush him on the swing.  He has rarely ever even acknowledged anotherchild's presence much less say anything to them, much less ask themto play!!  I was floored; I still get teary-eyed thinking about.  Mylittle boy is starting to reach out to the world.  I really hopethis continues.  He amazes me with everything he does. But I can't become complacent.  I can't be satisfied with justthis.  I have to take on the rest of Harrison's development with asmuch zeal as I have up to this point.  There is no relaxation on mypart.  I just hope Harrison doesn't get sick of my persistence.  Ican really see the Lord working through Harrison, and it is ananswer to my (our) prayers.  Harrison is just such a wonderfullittle boy that I have learned so much about myself through allthis.  I am grateful and blessed to have him in my life.  I've saidthis before, but he truly is my hero. For the first time since my wife and my miscarriage, she talked tome about trying for another child again.  A friend of hers had amiscarriage about a week ago, and I think my wife opened up heremotions to help her friend.  To me, it was a very courageous thingto do for a friend.  I often find it amazing to be surrounded bysuch a wonderful family.  I consider myself a blessed and very luckyman.

yes you are blessed and lucky but you are also deserving! it sounds like your son is trying to be a little social good for him! i found buddyball for adam, it is an group that supports team sports for kids with disabilities and adam loves it, they are a national group maybe your son might like it. they take children as young as 3 yrs old. just do a search for buddyball in your area if your interested. its usually sponsored by a church. they set each child up with a buddy on the court or field, depending on the sport, and the buddy helps them play ball. no scores, no competition, just fun and great for cordination and social skills.
