Dirty Shirts and Painted Fingers The big, metal monster came to take you into the uncertain You looked so scared; you looked so confused as to why this was one monster Daddy wouldn’t scare away And then you were gone. I didn’t know what to do; I didn’t know what to think So I just waited; I waited and waited and waited And the big, metal monster brought you back, but you didn’t seem as scared anymore, so maybe it wasn’t a monster after all But it did bring you back, with a dirty shirt and painted fingers, and most importantly, a smile.
