Greetings, Thank you for all the nice thoughts and kind words. I was just sitting here remembering the day we came home from MayLyn's service and everything that has happened since;
I think it took about two years for me to get my butt in gear when it came to the kids, I had so hoped Kevin would regain control of himself. But I digress. Earlier I wrote about taking custody of MayLyn's children about 1 1/2 years after she pased and their Dad took off with a new woman.
I re-did the kids room and MayLyn's room too. Totally cleaned it out, put her clothes we kept for Tina in my bottom dresser drawer (I still like to take them out and remember her in them sometimes) and I painted and designed and made a whole new room for both of the kids. It was good medicine for me I think, and really good torture for all those muscles I had forgotten about that never got used. For decorations I used pressed flowers from her ceremony, and had some extra flowers that she had pressed from the years passed. I took all of them and decorated picture frames with them and 4X5 black and whites of her (MayLyn) and put the pics with the flowers in solid black frames for the kids rooms, and for me too.
My Father is a Military Veteran, he spent 30 years in the Army, 19 yeas Special Forces. He says I need to take down all of MayLyn's pics but one, and only bring that one out once a year on her birthday or such. I told him he was wrong, but if that worked for him then fine! But that would not work for me or the kids! The kids and my husband and myself talk about MayLyn each and everyday, and at the end of each prayer we send a kiss and a hug to heaven for her.
Today my heart aches for my baby girl. I have looked at all of her pictures and felt she was looking back. She always looked back when she was alive.
Miss you
Sweetheart.

You are beautiful and wonderful woman and the decorating with the flowers is an excellent idea! I could not ever only keep one picture out of my son. That\'s like saying he was only one-sided in life. He was multi-faceted in life and all the pictures I have capture all of his sides..All my love, Karen (PS - I LOVE THE SPARKLY BUTTERFLY!)
The important thing is that we find what works for us. We are all different, and go through the process in different order. I\'m glad you have found peace in what you are doing. Take care. Dawn
